Carvings In Homes - Page 4

Below are examples of clients who have mailed me photos depicting displays of wall  and
in the round sculptures in their home. To date, pieces have found their way into not only homes
but in medical and law offices, commercial buildings and restaurants. The work is quite striking
to the public when they visit these establishments.

This home in the Thousand Oaks area displays their new owl and raccoon sculptures. As can be seen, the animal - fall motif of the room blends perfectly with the sculptures.
The Cougar, carved in Alder, with whitish highlight staining,
hangs nicely over this TV stereo cabinet This piece
measures approximately 24" in height by 31" in length.

The Flying Pelicans work well high up on the wall in this
Morro Bay, California home. Each is carved in Alder wood
with grayish/white staining and each measures approximately
24" by 31" in size.

This California home has the descending Octopus sculpture over the fireplace. Carved in Red Cedar, with a Tung Oil finish, it is a very striking piece for their sea themed home decor.

Another California home utilizes the Vertical Twin Pelican sculpture to accent their living room fireplace. Note how the grey/tan coloring of the fireplace complements the tones of the pelicans, creating a floor to ceiling display.

This coastal home also has a grey toned fireplace and the client chose the horizontal pelicans to highlight the area above the brick mantel. This stunning display welcomes guests into the room.
This Morro Bay client commissioned Richard to create this wonderful piece depicting Morro Rock and a varied sea theme. The whales and the otter are heavily textured in the carving and stained in a whitish/grey with a light blue stain depicting the water and are finished with lacquer.
This bottlenose dolphin grouping in Red Cedar makes a great statement in this California Bay Area home.  Note how the client has chosen towels in a color to enhance the dolphins coloring in this bathroom which has a sea theme.

These two Loggerhead sea turtles in Alder wood really compliment the colors of the fireplace and are a striking addition to this Folsom, CA home. Note the colors of the sculptures enhancing the brick colors in the fireplace and the room decor.
A wonderful display of this endangered species.

This home in Agoura Hills, California displays a beautiful set of humpback whales carved in Red Gum wood. Note how the colors compliment the background wall, plants, and the blues in the sea painting below. Additionally, the dive of the whales works well with the ceiling angle of the home
