Free Standing hand carved Sperm whale sculpture carved
in Alder wood with white/gray staining, lacquer finish.

This piece can rest on a table or shelf; flukes fully carved.
A special texture over the entire piece gives the
carving a "skin like" whale finish.

The artist uses a torch after carving the piece to give
darker undertones before applying the finish.
The result is a subtle sculptural tone of a whitish gray look.

The body, about two inches thick, fluke width about
seven and a half inches and a length of twenty seven inches
make this a neat table sculpture viewable from all angles.
